ELISA DAVIS, RMT

Elisa opened her practice at Health First Chiropractic and Massage in 2019. She grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario and has recently moved to the Okanagan. She graduated in 2009 from a 3-year RMT massage therapy program at Everest College in Thunder Bay.  After completion of her program she started a clinic with her best friend Danielle who now has her own clinic in Moncton, New Brunswick. Following her intent, she opened her own clinic and for eight years was successfully operating a stand-alone clinic in Thunder Bay until August 2019.

Elisa is focused on heart-based massage and is passionate about helping her clients feel and function at the best they can. She enjoys finding the root cause of old pain and dysfunction within the body facilitating the treatment for whole health. She utilizes a combination of techniques such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, lomilomi massage (Hawaiian massage), Reiki (Master level), deep tissue, and acupressure.

Nicole Viejou, RMT

Neck injuries, head pain & tinnitus, TMJ issues, sciatic pain, and pregnancy & mastitis are common reasons people come to see Nicole.

ABOUT NICOLE VIEJOU:

Since I was a little girl, I have been fascinated with the incredible intricacy of the human body, and have thrived in helping to nurture the health of others.  It is only natural that massage therapy became an interest and pursuit as a result.

As a teenager, I was injured while attempting to wake-board, ending up with what I thought was a low back injury.  I was very active and played all kinds of sports, and as a bank teller at the time, I was in excruciating pain day and night for a week until I went to receive massage.  To my great surprise, my injury was completely healed after only three treatments, and the RMT explained to me that the pain I had felt in my low back was actually coming from the piriformis muscle that I had strained, which is deep under the glutes.  I had already been considering becoming and RMT, and this sealed it for me.

During my training at OVCMT, I quickly came to recognize that people are not textbooks, and my own various injuries and resulting symptoms were not typical to what I was learning to memorize as the "right" answers.  However, those textbooks provided a strong foundation to build upon, while my experience provided a flexible and creative mentality for whenever I am considering how to best help each particular client.

Shortly after graduating from college I became a registered massage therapist with a special interest in TMJ (jaw) and neck work, and a heart for personalized treatment plans to help my clients with improving their quality of life.  I appreciate the holistic approach that massage therapy affords me to have, considering all the systems of the body and how they work cohesively.

To help determine the best treatment plan for each individual, I use a variety of assessment techniques.  During treatments I use myofacial techniques, neuromuscular therapy, craniosacral therapy, Swedish massage, and other techniques to accomplish desired results.

I have experience in working with people of a broad range of ages, experiences, and health concerns from  newborns and pregnant/nursing ladies to extremely elderly, from healthy athletes to chronic/acute dysfunction, and I welcome input and feedback from my patients during and outside of their treatments.
